It is true that a lot of our assumptions and beliefs are incorrect. It is true that there are other people in the world who are correct. It is true that the world does not exist. It is true that the world is not at all alike. It is true that the world is not like other places. It is true that it is not like me. It is true that it is not like the world. But it is true that it is true.
The error that I’m talking about here is called the error of hypothesis testing. When we test something using the scientific method, we assume that the evidence we have to back up our beliefs is true. We assume there is a right answer.
